I just wanted to share with you my love for these supernatural maidens called nymphs from the Greek mythology. I hope you will love them as much as i do!
They are earthy and divine creatures, who animate nature, ussually regarded as beautiful and young minor godesses.Nymphs could inhabit mountains, rivers, forests and seas, being responsible for the crafting of nature's wild beauty.

The early Greeks saw in all the phenomena of ordinary nature some manifestation of the deity, like the universe was expressing its consciousness through the female energy and movement.
The nymphs themselves were thought to be endowed with prophetic or oracular power, and to inspire men with the same, and to confer upon them the gift of poetry.
Some were thus regarded as having the power of restoring sick persons to health.
Celestial nymphs:
Nymphs of the stars, wind, damp breezes and rain clouds
Land nymphs

Wood and plant nymphs:
Called ”The Dryades”,they were immortal, unlike other types, like the Hamadryades, who lived in oak trees and would die when the tree they lived in died.
Also, Nymphs of the forest were believed to sometime appear and frighten solitary travellers
Nymphs of the watery element:
Many of these presided over waters or springs which were believed to inspire those that drank of them. They are often called as ”ocean nymphs”
Nymphs were wild faires who cherished their nature related freedom, being a little unpredictable and sometimes scary. Even though they are described as fragile, delicate beings, they would severely punish any thoughtless mortal who would somehow foolishly or cruelly injure the trees.
They are personifying nature. Moreover, the nymphs protected the plants and animals and were also playing the role of nurses who occasionally raised human beings.
